This is another building on the water, it is called LeanShadow and Broken Moon Veranda. Many structures in Chinese garden are designedto reflect the associations with ancient poetry. A poem describes bamboo aslean shadows with elegant bones and ponds as thin glass covered with frost anda broken moon. 

This is the setting of this building: A rockery is locatedacross the pond, a little pavilion set on the rock, bamboo bushes plantedbehind the rockworks. Imagine that you’re here on a clear night, what would you see? a quiet darkness; moon-light shed on the water; rockworks, pavilion, leanshadows of bamboo, the zigzag bridge, all linked in the serene darkness. A coolbreeze wafts gently, bamboo flickers, the little pond starts to ripple, and thereflection of the moon ripples and breaks into pieces…This is the vision ofthis place.
